Christians believe that all humans have an eternal soul. A human's physical body may die, but the essence of the human (the soul) continues to exist "somewhere else".

Likewise, when Christ's physical body died, his "essence" continued to exist elsewhere. At no time did Jesus "cease to exist". So, there never was a three day period of time when there were only two parts to The Trinity.

Salaam Reepi,

long time no see!

Well we do share the belief that humans have a soul that do no die. And that it is the body that dies.

But in the case of Jesus pbuh it may be a bit more complicated. Since he is considered to be both God and himself, both human and divine, that means that God also has a soul, and that makes things even more strange. Does God have a soul?

Do you have an explanaition to why Jesus pbuh is supposed to sit BESIDE God when they are the same, according to Christianity?

One possible answer (short version): God is outside of space and time. Therefore, it is a mistake to interpret passages such as "seated at the right hand of God" literally.

A longer version of the above explanation can be found here:

Whether it is fitting that Christ should sit at the right hand of God the Father?

Quote:I want to pause just a moment to discuss the verses above. The Greek word for God is theos. In John 1:1, we read that the Word (Jesus) was with theos and was indeed theos. Jesus was (and is) God! This is a very powerful statement! The word theos is used not only in John 1:1, but also in verse 18 and in John 20:28. Theos is used in the New Testament in reference to Jehovah/Yahweh God. Theos is also used in reference to Jesus. We’re beginning to see the plurality found within the one God.

You make the mistake that for three in the Godhead to all be God they have to be in the same place at the same time. God is omnipresent.

first you did not answer my question about "if you as <b>a man</b> told your wife a secret, will you as <b>a father </b> and as <b>a son </b> know this secret or not?

answering this question is very important to me. i asked you this question for 3 times on the 'trinity' thread but got no answer.

now, as regards to john 1:1 again you are wrong, i dont know how many times i need to explain this. and i wonder why you dont do some research to check the original words in Greek by yourself.

the Greek word for "God" the first time it occurs in the quotation "and the Word was With God" <b>Hotheos</b>, which literally means <b>"The God".</b>

the Greek word for "God" in the second occurrence in your quotation - "and the Word was God"? was <b>Tontheos, </b> which means <b>"a god".</b>

According to your own system of translating you aught to have spelt this word 'God' a second time with a small 'g' i.e. 'god', and not 'God' with a capital 'G'; in other words Tontheos is rendered "a god". Both of these, "god" or "a god" are correct.

But in 2 Corinthians 4:4 your translators have dishonestly <b>reversed your system by using a small 'g' </b> when spelling 'God' "(and the devil is) the god of this world." The Greek word for "the god" is <b>Hotheos the same as in John 1:1.</b> "Why have you not been consistent in your translations ?" "If Paul was inspired to write hotheos the God for the Devil, why don't you use that capital 'G'?

And in the Old Testament, the Lord said unto Moses: "See, I have made thee a god to Pharoah" (Exodus 7:1). "Why do you use a small 'g' for 'God' when referring to Moses instead of a capital 'G' <b>as you do for a mere word 'Word' -</b> "<b>and the Word was God."?</b>

Okay folks all this does not quite Answer my question the guy who posted this thread?

Hello brothers and sister / Christians

I need to know some fact on this If you all are saying that Jesus peace be upon him did not married {  this question is for the Christians }

Muslims are saying we don’t know if Jesus married or not.

Yet what is confusing to me is that if our prophet Mohd peace be upon him married 4 wife’s could it not be possible that Jesus did married

I mean it could be possible

I have another compliacated question please people don’t fall out with each other on this question or complicated things

Ma question is We Muslim believe that Quran is the last book to be reveal on earth so do the Christians believe that the Bible is the last book to be reveal on earth

Can someone proof to me which one did

Of course I personally as a Muslim believe the Quran but would love to see some fact on this.

Also no disrespect to our non-Muslim brother and sister do we know where Jesus peace be upon him grave is. Any record ? in the Quran or bible

One last thing to ask What is the fundamental different between Muslims and Christian

:wasalam:

The words 'body' and 'soul' are used to describe the different states of existance for mortals, and can't be applied to God.

But still God, that is the co-existent in His Trinity does die? I mean His body represented by Jesus pbuh dies, doesn't he? According to Christianity?

Someone discribed the Trinity earlier somewhere here like 'a man', 'a son' and 'something else', don't recall what it was for now and if the 'man' dies, so does the son and something else too, don't they? They cannot be separated just because one of them dies? Not according to the Christian description of the Trinity? Since one is three and three is one?

To me this does not make any sense at all. Does it you you?
