A major Concern of Many Americans, at least...
#1

Namaste,

Here is a matter that came up in conversation yesterday with two friends of mine who know very little, perhaps less than I did when I came here a couple of weeks ago, about Islam.

One of them mentioned that he was afraid that in the future, as the population of the Islamic community expands as it has steadly been doing, there was a possibility of a massive militant movement by the Islamic community to litterally take over the world. Whether as a holy war or some sort of cleansing - his thought was that because of the belief that the lives of non-muslims have no value in the tenets of Islam, when numbers and support are vast enough, this will be the natural result.

Now, I started to argue with him, but honestly I've seen a few verses and comments that actually point right at that eventuality.

It isn't my intention to incite Muslim bashing - there are several here that i've had discussions with who don't seem as though they would jump on board with this. But, is this what Muslim youth are being taught as well? That is, are they being Taught a path of peace of one of war?

The may have come up here before. I perused, but didn't find anything on these lines here. However, the truth of the matter is that since I've been here, all i've heard is basically that those who turn away from Islam, those who hear and don't convert, and a number of other particular minorities, have no living value as human beings.

What response is there to this? It's a scary thought, and while I'm confident that America, while they are not the most politically correct nation, has sufficient technology and economy to handle such a threat, in sheer numbers it just doesn't matter, I think. We often take for granted the power that people have - we tend to fear governments just because they are big, but no government could possibly outfight the entirety of it's own populace, for instance.

So, word amongst the lesser educated is that the nation of Islam plans to convert the world and kill off the non-believers.

I believe it's a direct result of the terrorist matter - obviously not all muslims are terrorists, of course - and possibly little more than that. At the same time, I have to admit that given what i have heard so far it isn't entirely impossible. Especially if a particularly charismatic leader were to arise in the Islamic community who wished to manipulate fanatics towards an evil end. ultimately, i cannot offer a solid argument in either direction.

What say those who are more educated?

Welcome to the board, and thankyou for joining us, and for your contribution. Well Islam is spreading as u can see in spite of all this wrong concepts about it, and without any holy wars. On the contrary it is bush who is leading a holy war against Islam. Just today I heard on Tv that a whole tribe in china embraced Islam in the 1990's because of a small community of muslim

hui's.

If most of u non muslims, search or read about Islam from the right sources and not what is in media, u will know that Islam is not as pictured.

Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) was sent as mercy to all humanity

:bismillah:

107. And We have sent you (O Muhammad ) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamîn
21, Surat Al-Anbiya'

28. And We have not sent you (O Muhammad ) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not.
34, Surat Saba'

104. Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islâm), enjoining Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islâm has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful.
3, Surat Al-Imran

The above is just a few of many verses showing that Islam is not but mercy to all human kind, but sorry to say that mankind do not know th truth about it because of the wrong propaganda spread about it.

Anyways, consider this a begining, it is late for me now to write more, by will of Allah(SWT) I will try to explain more in the future along with my brothers ans sisters, and maybe insha'Allah u will then know how respond to others defending Islam and not against :).

Again welcome to the forum, and any other questions do not hesitate to ask, but I hope u would do some search on our topics, maybe u will find your answers.:)

Peace

Well my dear sister Radiyah did give u a start.

the rest may turn into a book or be brief.

Let us take the second option;

Allah Say in Quran:" There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right (Path of) Guidance has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower." (Quran 2:256)

The underlined part is the answer here. We are not commanded to put a sowrd on someone's neck to force him/her to embrace Islam.

Islam is an option we make in life, either we submit to Allah or not.

Thus, We are not commanded to envade houses or give out money for example like Christain Missionaries to pull people in.

So tell your friends to rest assured no one is going to force them into Islam.

Peace be upon you,

First of all I would like to thank you for trying to know where the truth is and for asking about my religion (Islam).

About those who hear about Islam and don't convert, having no living value as human beings this is not true.

First of all that in Islam "there is no compulsion in religion" chapter 2, verse 256 , thus, no one can be forced to become a Muslim.(in India, where Muslims ruled for 700 years, nowadays they are still a minority!)

Second that Islam is the religion of peace and submission and stresses on the sanctity of HUMAN (not only Muslims!) life, "anyone who has killed another person (except in lieu of murder or mischief on earth) it is as if he has killed the whole of mankind and anyone who saves one life, it is as if he has saved the whole of mankind" chapter 5, verse 32. , even in wars it is forbidden to kill any innocent person or a woman or child or old man and never destroy churches or synagogues.

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Go in Allah's name, trusting in Allah, and adhering to the religion of Allah's Apostle. Do not kill a decrepit old man, or a young infant, or a child, or a woman; do not be dishonest about booty, but collect your spoils, do right and act well, for Allah loves those who do well.

I would like to clarify that in Islam the word jihad means "striving in the way of God." This striving can take a number of forms, including the daily inner struggle to be a better person. Although this word is often translated as "holy war," it has a broader meaning than warfare on the battlefield. Any act of striving to please Allah may be described as jihad.

Hope that clarified the issue you asked about.

Thank you again for asking about my religion Islam

So you reckon this beliefs/ Foretelling of inevitable WARS are a cause and one root of terrorism, or at least a reason for it.

DO you feel Terrorist are simply speeding up these prophecies of dooms day?

The fact that you see or view some “freedom” fighters as Terrorist –warrants a STOP!

They may not be.

As a human is born knowing he/she will meet death one day, why do we bother living, gathering possessions, ect ect if we know we are going to some day die.

The same way Islam things have been laid out, tho it does not stop us from Being Peaceful, and following and Islamic way of life.

Christianity belives - There is a hell and a Heaven

Jewdasim the Same

Islam the Same-

In each religon, Belivers will go to HEaven, non-belivers to Hell. All Roads lead dont lead to heaven. But respect is given to whatever path one follows.
