Seeking assistance from the Jinn
#1

:bismillah:

:assalam:

Just recently my family has been struck with an immense test. It may be normal for some ppl but for us it was very difficult...

Today i learnt that some of my family had resorted to seeking help from among the Jinnat.

The thing is... that these are respected ppl in the community and this is what they are doing... The jinn has promised to help them and will do all that they can do... but is this not shirk.... Seeking help from other than allah... :astagh:

i have heard some ppl compare this help to the same help that you will get from a policeman and an investigator... but it still seems like shirk to me....

Brothers and sisters... THis is reallly trying for me... and it's very difficult... but i am convinced.. that this is out of islam and should not have been done.... When faced with a test this is not hte way to go...

do you agree??

Question :

Some people, when they want to pray against a person, say, “O jinn, seize him, O ‘ifreet seize him; may seven (jinn) seize you, may they break your back and suck your blood.” What is the ruling on such words?

Answer :

Praise be to Allaah.

This is shirk, and is a type of seeking the help of the jinn. Some people do this because they have fear of the jinn in their hearts and they are afraid of their power, and because their hearts are devoid of sincere faith and trust in Allaah. So they are content with these illusions and they seek the help of created beings which are not able to bring benefit or ward off harm for themselves, let alone for anyone else.

When Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about this matter, he said:

“This is even more abhorrent than associating others in worship with Allaah. We must not do this, we must beware of it, we must advise others not to do it and we must denounce those who do it. If a person is known to commit such actions of shirk, it is not permissible to let him marry a Muslim woman, to eat meat slaughtered by him, to pray over him [the funeral prayer] or to pray behind him, until he announces his repentance to Allaah, which includes devoting his du’aa’ and worship sincerely and purely to Allaah alone.”

(Iqaamat al-Baraaheen ‘ala Hukm man istaghaatha bi ghayr Allaah, p. 30)

The Standing Committee for Academic Research and Issuing Fatwas has issued a fatwa stating that:

“seeking the help of the jinn and turning to them to meet one’s needs by harming someone or benefitting him is shirk, because it is a kind of worship directed to someone other than Allaah. It is a kind of benefitting from the jinn to fulfil one’s needs, in return for which the jinn benefits by having the human’s veneration and trust, and being called upon by him to fulfil his desires. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

‘And on the Day when He will gather them (all) together (and say): “O you assembly of jinn! Many did you mislead of men,” and their Awliyaa’ (friends and helpers) amongst men will say: “Our Lord! We benefited one from the other, but now we have reached our appointed term which You did appoint for us.”
He will say: “The Fire be your dwelling place, you will dwell therein forever, except as Allaah may will. Certainly your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.”

And thus We do make the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) Awliyaa’ (supporters and helpers) of one another (in committing crimes), because of that which they used to earn’ [al-An’aam 6:128-129]

And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

‘And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression’
[al-Jinn 72:6]

When a human seeks the help of the jinn, to cause harm to another or to protect him from the evil of one whose evil he fears, all of this is shirk, and whoever is in this state, his prayer and fasting mean nothing. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“If you join others in worship with Allaah, (then) surely, (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers” [al-Zumar 39:65]

Whoever is known to do such things, cannot be prayed over if he dies, his funeral cannot be attended, and he cannot be buried in the Muslim graveyard.”

(Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 1/407-408)

The jaahili (ignorant) nature of their seeking the help of the jinn and putting their trust in them is highlighted in the words of shirk that they utter, such as:

“By the help of Allaah and you; I am under Allaah’s care and yours; I have no one except Allaah and you; I am Allaah’s slave and yours; I put my trust in Allaah and in you; this is from Allaah and from you; I have Allaah in heaven and you on earth,” etc.

Undoubtedly these phrases are expressions of shirk, because they make a created being the rival of the Creator. Exalted be our Lord far above that.

They even call upon Jibreel (peace be upon him) and Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) instead of Allaah, by uttering words of ignorance such as, “O Jibreel, help me,” and “O Muhammad, intercede for me.” And Allaah is the One Whose help we seek.

..............end of quote...........

However the Sufis will call you a Wahabi if you accept the above evidence. Their sheiks have told them it's halal...

Al-Shawkani also allows the calling on someone invisible: "In the hadith (of a`inu) there is evidence that it is permissible to ask help from those one does not see among the servants of God, whether angels or good jinn, and there is nothing wrong in doing it, just as it is permissible for someone to seek the help of human beings if his mount becomes unmanageable or runs loose." Tuhfat al-Dhakirin p. 155-156.

That one's from one of their big-Sheiks: G.F. Haddad @ sunnah.org :astagh:

But their proof is from the misguided opinions of their sheiks. Nothing from Quran and they twist hadith/stories to make it sound O.K. May Allah reward them with what they deserve.

The argument that will be given is that u are a wahabi if you warn them. You will be told things like;

"You idiot!!! The Quran is talking about the kafir!! Look!!

And thus We do make the Zaalimoon
(polytheists and wrongdoers) Awliyaa’ (supporters and helpers) of one another (in committing crimes), because of that which they used to earn’

See!! Allah's talking about the Zaalimoon. Whereas we're muslims!! Can't u read!! Typical Wahabi - using verses about the unbelievers and applying it to muslims!!"

:jazaak: Faris...

Actually I have been called "wahabi" before but that doesnt matter... As long as someone brings proof from me from quran and authentic sunnah... then i will accept.... because these two things are above our heads and above the heads of the ulamaa.....

Anyways.... In Sharh ul Qawaaidil Arbaa ; the explanation of the four principles of shirk by sh. jibreen and Uthaymeen.. when they explained the works of imam wahhab... They said that the pagan arabs worshipped allah.. but their error lied in worshipping gods as a medium to get to allah.....

using this... then i agree with you 100%.....

The next thing is.... How should i tackle this topic....

I know for SURE that this person knows what he did is shirk... But he has no idea that i know about his actions... How do i correct him without making a HUGGEE mess of things.....????

I guess that will kinda divert this thread to the methodology of correction....

Jazakum Allah khairan Faris for your detailed reply.

naseeha, under no circumstances this is allowed. People just get decieved and shaytan decorates it form them, calling it different names and giving them various verifications in order to just go ahead with it. This is serious.

if jin can do anything for us, why dont we just go ahead and seek the assitance of One Who Created the jinn. This will be even better.

Try to instil this logic to those who are doing it. la hawla wala qowata ila billah. u need to approach them kindly and logically. Rather than giving them direct fatwas, just tell them how understanding u r to their position and dire need and problem. Then remind them that if u r that understanding how about the One Who Is Merciful, One Who Is constantly watching over us, He must be even more understanding and Knowing. Teach them rather than wasting time trying to connect to jinn with all the effort need or even the mediator, remind them how easy it is to connect to Allah. It does not need more than taking wodu and standing there starting the meeting whenever u decide not the KIng of the KIngs. Remind them how Allah Is just waiting for us to call upon HIm and Allah Shall immediately respond.

To do this without making a huge mess, u need to approach the person in an indirect manner, like tell him/her that u read on the Internet about how people may resort to jinn for assistance, how harmful this might be. Like usually to do so, people get the assistance of humans who claim ability to connect with jinns. Tell him those people are not but magicians who usually make spells on the one who is seeking help. Thus the person rather than helping him/herself actually harms him/herself. At this point, u can then bring in the betterment of establishing a direct line with Allah, how easy, free of charge and even soothing. Remind the person how u may or someone else have been in a problem and was able to get out thru Allah's and Allah's alone help. Insh aAllah this will work. May Allah Makes your effort a success. Dont forget to take the niyah of helping a Muslim out of shirk.

May Allah Help u to address this problem the best way.

but before doing all this, just make two Raka to Allah (Qadaul haja) and recite Ayahtul korsi before talking to them in order to eliminate the interception of shaytan.

May Allah Assist u much brother ameen

well the problem with taking this approach with this particular person.. is that this person is one who knows in depth, the dangers of this... he also knows what he is doing is wrong..... So i know for sure that no matter what i say to him, he already knows...

In fact.. in the past he has admonished those about this same act....

the thing is now, that he is being tested by allah with some really streneous issues and this is the avenue that he is taking.

but i know for a fact that he knows that what he is doing is absolutely wrong...

Well in that case what's his opinion about this;

Sahih Muslim: Book 033, Number 6390:

Abdullah (b. Mas'ud) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) who is the most truthful (of the human beings) and his being truthful (is a fact) said: Verily your creation is on this wise. The constituents of one of you are collected for forty days in his mother's womb in the form of blood, after which it becomes a clot of blood in another period of forty days. Then it becomes a lump of flesh and forty days later Allah sends His angel to it with instructions concerning four things, so the angel writes down his livelihood, his death, his deeds, his fortune and misfortune. By Him, besides Whom there is no god, that one amongst you acts like the people deserving Paradise until between him and Paradise there remains but the distance of a cubit, when suddenly the writing of destiny overcomes him and he begins to act like the denizens of Hell and thus enters Hell,
and another one acts in the way of the denizens of Hell, until there remains between him and Hell a distance of a cubit that the writing of destiny overcomes him and then he begins to act like the people of Paradise and enters Paradise.

naseeha, this type of person is exactly the one who need a reminder.

No one is above reminders, we all need it. Sometimes, I even discuss a certain matter with someone as if I m talking to myself in a loud voice. This person needs what Allah Say:

"And remind (by preaching the Qur'an, O Muhammad) for verily, the reminding profits the believers."

Just take the approach mentionen in the pervious post, start kindly, remind the person with the merit of being tested not in a direct way, as if u r talking about someone else. like for instance if u r facing a difficulty in a given work task, just go ahead and start saying, how weak we are, when we compare ourselves with what the prophets and Messengers encountered in their lives. We will feel that we are living in a luxury. Then from there u may move to how to connect to Allah. Just put this in mind, no one is above reminding no matter how this person is knowledgable, or committed or devoted to Allah.

as I told u at the beginning, i never said u should go directly and jump into his face. No just bring the issue in an indirect manner, like o i read this on the web, or imagine there are still those who believe this could be a way out. u know indirect messages Insh aAllah will work fine. Over and above, just take the Niyah of helping out a Muslim. Allah Shall make it easy. Insh a Allah

The horrible thing is that in my county there are alot of muslims who preach this.. and practise it too... they also make some non muslims believe that islam is about mysticism
