Well I must say I agree with u arclight. I noticed that i agree with u on a lot of matters wow :). For a change, I agree with john on what he commented on hamza. Yes he is not a scholar. As for myself, of course and I dont claim to be 24 hour follower of what is taking place. But no i never came accross a scholar who does this. On the contrary, I remember the late Sheikh Sha`arwai who was a very popular scholar with a high leve of charisma. Allah may He be Glorified bestowed much knowledge on him, he had a very special way of explaining the Quran. This man never ever made any hostil or disrespectful statement against Christians or jews. He even never took an aggressive stance from those who mocked Allah or the Messenger. But rather simply said if they didnt do this, who can we explain the truth to the world.
So arclight, yes these are individual acts that we never take as a general feature and thus stereotype or else we would for example shut down the non Muslim room or closed registertions for them. but let us be honest, Muslims do face much of such statements. but this also is a part of a well designed media campaing and those individuals are not but the mouth piece. BTW, in this statement i m quoting an American who is not Muslim but simply rational man (he works with politics0.
John to brief u, a new member who registered a month ago and kept on validation with a screen name: Israeli obssesion noted, I finally approved his registeration. On his first and only post, he posted porno pics, under a very vulgar title and made threats.
No he is not an old member who re registered we checked this.
So now u r not missing anything.

To tell you the truth, technically speaking all what we can do is continue applying this validating policy. Most importantly is continue invoking upon Allah to Protect this and every Muslim board. As i said, I approved his membership just to actually know what his aim is which came out to be nothing. i mean he is not even a non Muslim who is coming to discuss and criticize which we respect and deal with. He didnt hurt any of us as much as made a fool of himself/herself.
Issue is over Alhamdulelah, we shall move on. Jazakum Allah khairan
Again may Allah Reward much all those who took time and conernce to report the incident.

the validation is good alhamdulillah.... excellent idea arclight... but wouldn't restricting access to newbies give islam message a kinda closed door.. restricted outlook that may run more ppl then join it... maybe i misunderstood but please expand on your point..:) but good suggestion though
Umm.... is it possible for someone who has been banned to join under a new name.... i remember another member not too long ago that kept on joining and being banned???

Well if you have any sort of system in place you run the risk of putting people off. But if someone is keen on posting here then a short probation period shouldn't put them off. Then again that also applies to trolls
TBH I have yet see any message board that hasn't had to cope with trolls before. Some have used word filters to keep stop them posting unlwelcomed messages, but that can stop discussion if overly used. I guess the best system is for the mod's to be on their toes with new members, and remove offensive posts and posters as soon as they pop up.
Oh, and YaY for new smilies

yes we will be on our toes Insh aAllah and we dont mind it is all for Allah. That is why we are all here.
And for smilies, yes may Allah Reward our brother mohsie for this, despite his tight schedule and many responsibilities he started working on things bit by bit. So just give him time.
Actually, we do have separate roles as admins
May Allah Support him much to continue doing it.
