MY JOURNEY TO ISLAM
#21
amai it has nothing to do with making demands. U ask questions, we post links that answer your questions. U r reluctant to read and come back with more comments. And any way may Allah grant u light. When u r done let me know. Insh a Allah will post another topic short one though [Image: smile.gif] see it seems that u find it easy to post replies and argue rather than take the time to read. U need someone to give u answers in an easy way. Well u have to studyyyyyyyyy [Image: smile.gif][Image: smile.gif][Image: smile.gif] see ya

a Christian friend of mine is a proponent for space exploration said that he would definitely have heard a major news like this.

now i understand the secular media and not all news like these are shown.

when a box was discovered with the inscription, "James the son of Joseph and the brother of Jesus", it had been a great news. atheists, theists and others were surprised.(including a then-lax-who-doesn't-care-kid-agnostic me)

now, i know islam isn't as widespread as christianity. but if the moon really gave the impression as if it had been split into two, a news way bigger than the inscription of the box(which was found false anyway) and muslims knew what exactly that meant, it should have reached many people and maybe even made it to the front page.

so let me ask you these questions:

a. what was the show's title?

b. when was it aired?(preferably exact date)

c. on what channel?

d. who was the interviewee?

e. what moon project was that?

f. who were the 3 austronauts interviewed?

g. can you give me a non-muslim site which says the same?

ASSALAMUALKUM BROTHERS AND SISTERS

amai, i just wanna correct some of the stuff u wrote a while ago, just so u have a better understanding of Islam and its teachings. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Amai: Allah is the source of both good and evil.

actually, Allah SWT, is Good, he created jinns and men, jinns are a creation of God that were made out of fire. The leader of the Jinns, his name is Iblis in Arabic, rebeled when God told all his creation to bow down to Adam when he created him.Iblis is now Satan, and of course Satan--bad. He had a chance to ask for forgiveness but he is stubborn and still won't.

Amai: Mohammed is greater than Jesus

no, all are great....Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) stood out from the other prophets because his message was ment for all of mankind, and it was the last message, and as we belive, the REMAINING true message. On the other hand, the message of the prophets before him were ment for a specific people, the Isrealites... ect.. We think that ALL prophets are great and that they all have great attirbutes to them, such as honesty, trustworthyness, modesty, etc, etc, etc, the list goes on...

Amai: Jesus was only a prophet

No, we belive that he was a messager that brought the Injil (arabic) or Gospel (english) which is means "the Good News"

A prophet that recives a book, is a messager. The known messagers in the Quran are Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus, Muhammed (peace be upon them). There are more, but these are the ones mentioned in the Quran.

Amai: Gabriel is the Holy Spirit

Actually, we don't refer to him as such. He was known to guide and give messages of books to the Prophets and soon to be messagners

Amai, i'd like to know where the Quran says the sun sets in a pond. i'd sure like to read into that and make sense of it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, i like feedback by the way.

1. i said source, not [b:21f19329ef]is.[/b:21f19329ef]

i'm most likely wrong about it, but muslims here and other forums never corrected me about that.

say, the whole class of 1-A are intelligent, but if someone asks "who's the most intelligent?" are you going to say, "all of them are intelligent"? that doesn't say much and the other would probably reply, "i know, but who's the most, i mean the really really most intelligent?"

same here. tell me all are great, but who's considered to be the greatest?

mohammed. yeah.

Assalamluakum,

I don't think you fully understand what i mean so here i go again.

[b:aae86580b4]Amai:say, the whole class of 1-A are intelligent, but if someone asks "who's the most intelligent?" are you going to say, "all of them are intelligent"? that doesn't say much and the other would probably reply, "i know, but who's the most, i mean the really really most intelligent?"

same here. tell me all are great, but who's considered to be the greatest? [/b:aae86580b4]

[b:aae86580b4]mohammed. yeah. [/b:aae86580b4]

OK, here goes. Amai, all we know of the prophets pbut before Muhammed pbuh comes from the Quran and Hadith(sayings of Prophet Muhammed). We know that ALL the Prophets pbut had a good [i:aae86580b4]character[/i:aae86580b4] and on this, they are all to be granted good inshallah (God willing). But when we don't mean to say that Prophet Muhammed pbuh was [i:aae86580b4]morally[/i:aae86580b4] better (i mean he definatly was morally good, but we don't compare prophets morally, since they all are good {am i repeating my self?}), since we have little evidence about almost anything of the prophets pbut before him. And we could never do such a thing because it decreases their position. But here is the interesting part. All the prophets pbuh, messages, books, scrools, have either been lost or changed. Remeber, this is what we belive. So who's message remains? Prophet Muhammed pbuh of course. And when we say "greatest" we are talking about his [i:aae86580b4]message[/i:aae86580b4] not [i:aae86580b4]morallity[/i:aae86580b4] (and since the other ones didn't get a chance to survive in their originality) it makes his message stand out.

[b:aae86580b4]Amai:where then is this Injil? when was it revealed? how was it revealed? what's supposed to be inside it?[/b:aae86580b4]

Ok, this one, i know, that you know what I am about to say (i can tell based on the tone of your questions). The Injil that was given to Prophet Jesus pbuh, was passed down and man changed it. Today, it is in the form of the Bible...remeber, this is what we belive to be truth, right now im not challenging u to give me a ton of evidence to support its authenticity. As for when it was revealed?...i don't think that the Quran or Hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammed pbuh) say exactly when. How it was revealed?...i don't think that the Quran or Hadith say exactly how either. And as for the question of what is inside...since we no longer have the original copy of the Injil with us (muslims belive that we can't really rely on the words of the Bible anymore), but if we had to, which one would we look at? Some sects would point to a certain one, others would point to another.

[b:aae86580b4]

Amai:you can say that Muhammad and Jesus were messengers and such but most muslims usually call Muhammed "the last and greatest prophet of Allah" and Jesus "a prophet of Allah." messenger or not, Jesus, Muhammed and etc are commonly referred as prophets[/b:aae86580b4].

What is ur point here? are u trying to say that we forcefully degrade Jesus pbuh position? (Im sorry if i sound kinda hostile) but we do refer to him as the last, but as for "greatest" we are talking about his message, the one that was ment for all of mankind, which is unique in that case.

But on the point of us saying that Muhammed and Jesus pbut were messagers, that is true, but we say that they are messagers usually while talking about the books they recived or their message that they were trying to convey.

But if we talk about them in general, we say "prophet".

As for us calling Gabriel "the holy spirit", im sorry but i haven't seen that prase anywhere in the pages of the Quran.

I hope my words are clearer now, if u'd like to comment brother amai, feel free to do so. And muslim brothers and sisters, if i have made a mistake anywhere, please tell me where and explain why. I would be glad to retract my comment if I see it to be wrong.

i understand what amai wants, and what ur all telling her..

i wanna clarify to amai that the Quran is Islams biggest miracle so if ur looking for clear evidence u will find it in the Quran and u will also understand how the Quran as a whole is perfect evidence.

u were asking about scientific facts from the Quran and clear evidences..

dont worry, theres plenty. if u just listen to a good speaker he'll name plenty in a few second(not just scientific/logical facts but real stuff that will ensure u of the Truth), im only 16 and still learning [Image: sad.gif] , i wanna help u though. im very forgetful and im too scared to say something thats wrong. why isnt anyone telling her about how islam predicted the persians will win or something... and how the earth rotates around the sun not the sun rotates around the earth before anyone knew that. or how the Quran is free from any grammatical errors and that its literature was better then all the arabic poems at the time, and at that time there was lots of competition. and the challenge from the Quran to the non-believing people to attempt to even make 1 verse similar to the Qurans, and no one succeded. In the Quran it also talks alot about the future, and so did the prophet Muhammed (signs before the day of Judgement).

and many signs have already happened.

anyways.. amai u seem to be very smart and logical. ill be surprised if u dont end up a muslim in a short amount of time.

Jazakum Allah khairan Mr. X for your majore concern. We already told her Alhamdulelah, we gave her links about scientific facts in the Quran. And I fully agree with u, Insh a Allah in a very short time, she will become a Muslim. Although she is scared to face this fact.
