From my limited understanding of Arabic, I'd say that this literally translates as "We sent down the Qur'an" ... Please correct me if I am wrong, O Arabic speakers of this forum!

That is how I understand it too, 'sent down'.

Could it have something to do with what DATE it was on that first revelation, when Gibreel approached the prophet Muhammad salallahu aleihi wa sallam?

Umm if u can actually re phrase your question because i see that each one of us is talking about something different.

If u r asking about what does Nuzul alkoran mean, this means the revelation of Quran.

Try to rephrase pls.

mohsie if u r talking about We sent down the Qur'an

this would be inna nazalnal Quran

so umm just try to re phrase after having coffee

Assalamu alaikum sister

Please take a two way path on this, one serious and one funny , I like them both

No further to add on the matter of the thread.

What I understand the nuzul is the 'sending down', the revelation itself and it happened on the Laylatul al-Qadr. No confusion anymore...

JazaakAllah Khair for the correction Sister Muslimah!

My Arabic is totally limited to a few words that I have kinda managed to learn from reading just the translation of the Qur'an. Inshallah now I will start to read the Arabic WITH the translation, and inshallah I will be able to learn more Arabic, and with grammar inshaAllah. Would be great if you could spare me some duas inshaAllah. Baarak-Allahu Feek

Doesn't "Inna" mean "indeed" or "surely"??

So "Inna nazalnal Quran" would mean "Indeed, We sent down the Qur'an"? Right?
