clipping of the nails
#1

A baby,s nail should be clipped so that he cannot hurt himself or others by scratching or poking his fingers in the eyes, which could result in serious injury.

Mothers should ensure that when clipping the baby,s nail ,it should be clipped according to sunnah.

The sunnat method of clipping the nails

-------------------------------------------------------

Right hand

---------------

Index finger,fore finger,ring finger,little finger

Left hand

-----------

little finger, ring finger, forefinger, indexfinger, thumb and lastly thumb of the right hand

Prophet Mohamed(S.A.W.)clipped his nails either on thursday or Friday

It's Wednesday afternoon in my part of the world, and my wife just finished cutting our one year old daughters fingernails. According to Islamic law, has my wife and/or daughter committed a crime? And if a crime has been committed, what do you think the punishment should be?

In Islamic countries, I assume there millions of fingernail police who are constantly on watch, protecting Islamic society from ignorant kuffar like my wife who cut fingernails on the wrong day, and in the wrong order?

Assalamu alykom

No reepi, your wife and of course your daughter did`nt commite any crime and there is no

punishment for any one if he did`nt follow this rule even he is a muslim.

We as muslims are ordered to obey the prophet, that is mean if he said do this or do`nt do this we must obey him,but we did`nt requested to do the same like he did concerning the life affairs. Some muslims and may be most of the muslims want to do every thing in the same manner he did,not because they must do this but because they love him(pbuh).

R- Can you phrase your question in a manner that shows you actually want to know something rather than you just being condescending? The initial part of your post is a valid question that I could see someone wanting to answer. Then you just have to stick a little barb in there about fingernail police and other nonsense. Try reading your post over before submitting it. "Is this asked in a mannerly way showing my desire to really learn something about which I have little knowledge or am I just being ignorant for its own sake?"

Well, this is sunnah...

We're encouraged to follow those sunnah. However, its not sinful if we dont follow them.

Quote:"Clipping nails in accordance with a fixed order has no foundation in Sharia. It is not allowed to believe in the approbation of clipping nails according to the above-mentioned order, since such a desirability has no evidence in Sharia. So, it is wrong to believe this easily." Ibn Daqiq al-'Id

The above extract came from the following fatwa:

Is there a correct order when cutting fingernails?
