Ok I just need to tell u Seraphim if replies are not prompt, pls take note this is Ramadan. Living in Syria you would understand. I m sure u have Muslim neighbours whom u wished ramadan mubarak as my Christian ex co worker called me specially to wish me.

Now back to topic, Mohamed salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam was never but a Muslim. He never prostrated to an idol, never worshiped an idol, was not Nasrani (Christian term is not supposed to be used) Quran does not contain such a term but rather Nasrani for many reasons I will not go off topic. Mohamed salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam worshiped Allah according to Milat (religion) of Ibraheem who was also a Muslim haneef. Actually, non of the Messengers and Prophets - including Eassa - prayer and peace be upon all of them was anything but a Muslim.

And as you know he was from Quraish and not Syria. He was born in Mecca, so how can he be a Syrian? amazing.

Salaam Aliekum!

Muslim/Islam means Submission to Allah (swt) (God) that why "non of the Messengers and Prophets - including Eassa - prayer and peace be upon all of them was anything but a Muslim."

I am sorry i am just not understanding. Muhammed founded Islam...but what was he before he had the meeting in the cave with God's angel?

And about the whole syrian orthodox thing. I am syrian orthodox but i live in California. And the only reason I thought Muhammed would be either Syrian Orthodox or pagan was because at one point Syrian Orthodox used to have churches starting from Syria all the way to the very north and a small group at the south of India. Then during the after the rise of Islam, all that was left was the churches in Syrian and Southern India.

What was Khadija before Muhammed founded Islam?

Sorry about all the questions...

Salam Seraphim

No problem about the number of questions.

First as we explained to you, Mohamed salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam didnt found Islam. Islam is the religion of all Prophets and Messengers prayer and peace be upon all of them starting from Adam till Mohamed.

But each Prophet or Messengers comes and calls his own people, then they start corrupting the religion. Until Allah Sent Mohamed as final Messenger to all mankind and jin not only his own people.

Each one of us is born a Muslim then his/her parents turn him/her into Nasarni, Jewish or others according to the Ayah saying:

"And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this." (Quran 7:172)

Also there are hadeeth that support this Ayah, but I will not quote them now.

any way, so in brief as I told you Mohamed salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam was never a pagan, never worshiped an idol, never prostrated to one. Even when he was only 12 travelling with his uncle on a trade caravan, they passed by a monk in the desert (Baheerah). Opposite to the usual, Baheerah invited them over for food, they went in without the little boy Mohamed. He insisted they call everyone. He started questioning him to verify that he is the anticipated Messenger they find him full and accurate description in their books. He specifically asked him how does he feel about Hubal (an idol), Mohamed said I hate nothing more than those idols and I never prostrated to them.

When he grew up, he started worshiping Allah according to Milat Ibraheem. I though i already said that, but no harm, here again. He used to go to that cave to take isolation and worship Allah as a Muslim. Till one day the Arch angle Jebreel came to him during the night of Qadr in Ramadan and revealed to him the first Ayah: Read.

As for Khadija, Insh a Allah let me check that for u.

I m not sure I did understand why u assumed he was nasrani. Later on after receiving the message, he met a delegation of priests from Najran, who came to him objecting that he calls Eassa just a Prophet. He gave them a date next day to meet in the open air with their children and women and supplicate to Allah to curse the lying party. The delegation was smart enough not to take the challenge and just settled to keep their religion and leave Mohamed.

any more questions????

i am sorry iam not getting this. So basically he was born a muslim and we are all born muslims. So he worshiped the one true God, without being commited to any religious order, until he was visited God's Angel?

See I just thought he was Chrisitian to start with becuase wasnt that the only monothesitic religion around there? I mean he worshiped "Allah" who is the same as the God of Chirtians and Jews.

To sum it up...Your saying he prayed to the One True God but was not affiliated with any religious order?

First let me welcome u Seraphim, welcome to the board.

One particular quality in Khadija may Allah be pleased with her was quite interesting, she, unlike her people, never believed in nor worshipped idols, if I will write her biography here it will be very long, but be sure that she submitted to one Creator, and never worshiped idols.

There was a very small number of Christians and Jews in Mecca, and a fairly large number of Jews in Medina. Waraqah ibn Nawfal, one of Khadija's cousins, had embraced Christianity and was a pious monk who believed in the Unity of the Almighty, just as all early Christians did, that is, before the concept of the Trinity crept into the Christian faith, which widened the theological differences among the believers in Christ(Allayhe Al-salam).

To read more about Khadeeja below is her biography and how she stood by the Prophet

I hope this will be suffiecient for u.
