Sometimes, we wonder "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me".
Here is an explanation...!!!!
A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong. She's failing Algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake. She asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter. "How about a couple of raw eggs?"
"Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.
But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times.
But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good!
We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

I understand your message.. and what you are tryin to say.... But maybe it came out wrong [img]style_emoticons/default/smile.gif[/img] ... I would strongly advise against saying "WHY ME" to god... we do not question his work... Instead we believe in divine predestination...
Also... let us be careful of where we hear these stories from... sometimes they may sound good but are in fact flawed in their aqidah (belief system)...
However you did try to put forward a really great point and i cant agree with you more... jut be a little more careful of how you put forward your points..
Anyways you are relativeley new here... i don't think that i have had the opportunity to welcome you...

Jazaakallah Khair for your welcome. I have been around here for a while now, though I don't really post much.
I wasn't questioning God or anything like that... I just put that as a title, coz it is a question we are all tempted to ask... and many of us do ask it, including myself... so, I was trying to put the question and the answer... kinda like a FAQ... hope that makes sense.
I do understand that this may not be a true story.... but it is the analogy, and the message that is being put forward, rather than the story itself. Of course if we try to scrutinise the story, then we will find many flaws (after all, it is written by a human) and end up missing the whole point...

I was going to post almost same reply as mohsie did but for some reason didnt.
I still would like to reply, actually with this stroy mosie is tackling a situation many Muslims fall into when Allah inflicts them with tests. Tests in Islam as we know is looked to from a totally different perspective.
However my only comment and a strong one about the story which I am sure he just got it on an email or something is that for the past 3 years during my activity on the web Muslims tend to sort of adjust or let us say edit stories of christian origins and use it for dawa purposes.
My comment is in referrence to the girl telling her mother I broke up with my boyfriend. Muslim women dont take boyfriends. Muslim women marry Alhamdulelah.
mohsie I understand the point u want to refer to, and sometimes Allah Sobhanhu wa Tala enlights the situation for the individual subject to the test and when it is illuminated one becomes soo amazed. As Allah Say what means: "and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you"

If some1 feel unlcky, so Allah swt advice us to help them, so both are happy.
The one who was unlucky and the others who helped...
I had diffucult times i know it how you feel no one help you and others will nothing to do with you...
I just had blackthoughts for them, that was the help. But reality was not so...
We dont know just with a good words can we help alot...

Assalamualaikum Brothers and Sisters,
All praises are for ALLAH and peace and blessings on our beloved prophet (sws). Whoever ALLAH guides none can misguide and whoever ALLAH lets to go astray none can guide. The worst thing in religion is innovation and every innovation is going astray and whatever that goes astray is in hell. I bear witness that there is no diety worthy of worship except ALLAH and i bear witness that Muhammad (sws) is HIS slave and messenger.
The only thing i want to point out to our brothers and sisters with my very limited knowledge is the statement in the story " He (God) can live anywhere in the universe, but He chose your heart." , is the concept of pantheism, introduced by mushriks. According to this concept god is omnipresent, but i am afraid this is not the aqeedah of the salaf and ahle-sunnah-waljama'ah. This is the same concept which gave rise to wahdat-ul-wujood, proposed by likes of Ibn-arabi etc. I don't want to criticize anyone, but my point is part of the ayaah of the Quran which says "......... He is with you wheresoever you may be.................." (57:4), refers that Allah is with us through his knowledge, and to be on the safe side we should just say that we don't know how HE is with us, we just have to believe in the Quran that HE is with us and that's it. May ALLAH guide us to follow the Quran and the Sunnah and make us inhabitants of jannat-ul-firdaws.
