Assalamu aleikum,
Just want to recommend a movie, can be found on DVD, called 'The Message'. I am probably one of the last to see it , since it is already 30 years old.
It is directed by Moustapha Akkad. Anthony Quinn plays the role of Hamza.
It is of the early days of Islam, persecution of the early Muslims forcing them to eventually leave Mecca and go to Medina.
Truly a very touching movie and just imagining how it was for the first Muslims, that for the first time heard Bilal calling out Adhan, it is just overwhelming mashaAllah.

I've seen it it too, mashaAllah it was nice.
But, how come they have men playing Bilal and Hamza? other then that it was great.

I know what u mean Intuition but guess what? I am a bit different Egyptian, I am not very much into TV watching. I might watch part of a musalsal if I really have nothing else to do and so tired I mean mentally exhausted as u know my type of work translation is a brain drainer.
But before that I loved listening to music or playing tennis which I dont do any more. So I have other means of entertainment.
And it just happened that I didnt see both movies.
Playing Bilal and Hamza I guess is fine they just can not play any of the Messengers and Prophets. U know my mother told me an old story about a late very old actor back in the 40s I guess he wanted to perform a play on theater about Prophet Yusu salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam and he was planning to play him. Each night they tried something happneded I guess also the theater went in fire Sobhan Allah
O poor Inuition u asked a simple question and look what u got?? sorry for that

Salam all
Muslimah no need to say sorry it's ok Insha'Allah. lol
Talkign about playing tennis I always found the tennis rackets to heavy for me to carry. Badminton or horse riding suits me better. When I was little I always used to be around horse's but now That I have passed that child stage It's hard to go near anything like that without wearing trousers and wearing that in public falls under the haram category.
Need to ask hubby to buy me some land in an isolated area where I can ride my horse freely.
This makes me wonder something, how did the women at the prophets time used to ride camels?
I have officially earned my self the title Miss-off-topic, crown me.

I saw the film, it has some changing in history, and I do not accept a movie about the prophet showing women dancing and having their hair shown and some parts of their bodies, or what do u all think ?? anyways, the director was not a shiite naseeha he is a syrian sunni, but not a very relegious man. His name was Mustafa Al'aqad, he made also the film of Omar Al-Mukhtar , he has a noble purpose I know but still he uses some scenes that are not permissable in islam.
May Allah accept from him and forgive his mistakes.
Intuition u have been crowned from a long time ago

Intuition u r really something Just say Alhamdulelah Dan is somewhat busy these days or else u would have had one of those I dont remember what before the storm.....
Women at the time of the Prophet to the best of my knowledge rode camels on a huge something like a mini tent placed over the camel's hump where they would sit behind curtains. It is called Hawdaj....
They never rode on their own. I understand what u mean. Even me certainly I stopped all sports long time ago Alhamdulelah no problem.
I have Allah

Assalamu aleikum,
Sister Muslimah, in Swedish we say ''having calm before the storm'' but perhaps you ment something else
Interesting with the tent-alike, sounds great! Could the view have been something like this (if being able to look out a bit)?
