Assalamu aleikum,
Found this to share with you - so we will pray even more sincere and also gain health at the same time, insha'Allah.
1) Prayers and Biological Clock
A recent study conducted by Prof. Zuhair Al-Faramy, a Saudi Physician, has unveiled amazing things related to Muslim prayers, especially related to their timing and nature.
Prof. Zuhair found out, along with teamwork of Muslim and nonmuslim researchers from allover the world, that Muslims who live up to praying on time, in the five times prescribed by God, avoid the trouble of suffering from very common diseases, both physical and spiritual.
For example, The Fajr (Dawn) prayer, as prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, has myriad benefits. He told all Muslims to be careful not to miss it for the world. It’s even better than this life and all within it, as He said. Recently, it has been discovered that Cortisone, as a hormone excreted according to movement of the sun and the sunlight provided, needs to be let off.
Thus Al-Fajr prayer is very important for letting off the energy resulting from the excretion of Cortisone. Waking up at that time, dawn, and keeping it up daily for one’s life protect the person from getting high Cholesterol, high blood pressure and suffering from diabetes.
Praying Al-Thuhr (noon) prayer reduces the effect of Sesterone, a hormone excreted at noon, increasing sexual excitement.
Praying Al-Maghreb (sunset) prayer is very important to the retina. The sunset is the time of SWITCH, i.e. switching from light to darkness. At that time, the retina needs to rest and to recharge to work in different circumstances, that is in darkness instead of daylight.
Another type of SWITCH is for the human body to move from assimilation to energy storage.
As for Al-Isha'a (evening) prayer, it adapts the nervous system to be in parasympathetic nature instead of the sympathetic nature. In other words, it prepares the whole body to the state of relaxation and comfort needed to get a well, nonintermittent sleep.
Moreover, doing ablution (Wudu’), with real devotion, preferably before each prayer is very important when it comes to one’s groins. It renews energy for the whole body, and is a way to get rid of sins as well.
Ablutoin (Wudu’) is a daily massage and healthy habit that keeps the body clean, the soul purified and the heart untroubled. Try to imagine that with every movement in ablution and with every part you wash, you are removing the sins and faults committed up to that moment. You are opening a new blank page void of any black spot. Your hands are purified from illicit dealings with money, women and so on. Your mouth is purified from libel and malicious gossip. Your face and your eyes are purified from illicit glances. Your head is purified from bad thoughts and intentions. Your ears are purified from listening to gossip and your feet are purified from walking to a place where you can sin without being seen.
Now performing prayers is not only a way to rise spiritually, but also a way to clear our minds & hearts and strengthen our bodies. That’s how we can even get closer to Allah and please Him in every action, thought and word.
