Jazaky mithluh sister Muslimah [Image: smile.gif]

Quote:Radiyah Nice of you to put up the pictures of sami yusuf and the link to his site, Thanks.

Thanks to Allah everything we write and do is by his aid [Image: smile.gif]

Quote: Thanks for the above it's inspiring, i used to think ramadan was no food only, not water as well. I hope i don't faint! No of course the task will be handled, people are starving daily, i thank Allah and his word for reminding us to consider those without food.

Oh Anya u will feel so light and healthy beleive me, fasting is the greatest diet for those who want to lose weight, and people go to institutes and books are made for weight loss, and the fasting of ramadan is the best diet ever, if we abide by the way the prophet used to eat or order us to eat just enough to keep us going. but we are soooooooo greedy we eat a lot and then we cry wanting to lose weight [Image: rolleyes.gif] .

May Allah help u and ease your fasting [Image: smile.gif]

Assalamu'alaykum...

Don't worry brother Anya, i know you can make it. it's not as hard as you think. Ramadhaan is one of the best gifts given by Allah to us, live throughout Ramadhaan as a Muslim and you'll find out what i mean... Insha Allah.

I'm preparing myself by having less through the day at the moment. I'm sure i'll be able to handle it. It's just the water that will be the challenge. That will be near impossible. But belive it or not, i am really excited about doing this. I feel step by step i'm getting closer to being a true muslim and that makes me feel good inside. Also to appreciate what those with no food and water have is so important, i've never really thought about it to this degree before. Ramadhaan will help me do that. Insha allah.

u wouldnt believe this, just to put a smile on your faces so that u know the type of person u r dealing with here Muslimah.

Today my mother was reading the paper and asked me who is this international singer they are advertising? it was Sami Yusuf, then I remembered a week ago a friend texted me with a phone number to call if I wanted to get tickets for some famous singer concert. Since I dont go out any way, I didnt pay attention who the person was. ..... [Image: rolleyes.gif] imagine, then I realized it was Sami Yusuf he was here in Cairo. La hawla wala qowata ila billah. See I am glad u can still put up with me all of u. [Image: ph34r.gif]

Bismillah

As Salam alaikum

I was nervous about my first Ramadan also. It is amazing how ALLAH makes it easy for us. Just trust in Him and do not worry. Shaytan tries to make doing good harder than it really is. For me, prayer was the best example of this. Before I converted, the praying five times a day kept me hesitant. It made me double, triple, and so on check my beliefs before I converted. Now, I would have to try to skip a prayer because of my attachment to them. I feel very uneasy and weird if I have to delay salah. I feel horrible if I ever miss one, which I try not to do, only the by the Grace of ALLAH do I achieve this feat.

As a side note, I am very proud of you, Mash'Allah, for your contributions to the board. I have been a muslim for such a period of time now that I have kind of forgetten what it was like to not believe and then have my eyes opened. May ALLAH Reward you for all that you do.

Peace everyone!!!!

Wow..... this thread got really really long! LOL.

I especially like the "extra long" signature. [Image: tongue.gif] Interesting reading selection.

Well.... sadly....... I had to stop talking to my Catholic friends for a while. I don't know if I'll return to those discussion groups at all. They said some very disturbing things to me. [Image: unsure.gif]

Just left me feeling like I have a hole in my gut. You know, there is one thing that I'll always love about Muslims..... lol.... they have always treated me a thousand times better than "my own" have treated me, thank God for something good in the middle of a mess! [Image: biggrin.gif]

[Image: unsure.gif] Yeh, that's erm heh heh, it is long the thing is i couldnt choose between the three sigs so i erm stuffed em all in. No more though i feel a little dumb with all them but you know, gotta be said! It's basically the journey that took me to God. How i found Allah through science and fact in my eyes.

We've missed you here BTW, sorry about hijacking the thread. Sorry to hear about the treatment you've been getting, hopefully not all Catholics feel the same way and Insha Allah you'll find some a bit more open minded like you. I've learnt to try and be open minded like you since you weren't here and as you may see in my debate elsewhere, i'm not always sucessfull [Image: blink.gif] Just passionate about Islam and i don't know how to control that.

Good to see you back, lets hope yuu stay. [Image: smile.gif]

I really like your signature, I do! I got goosebumps when I read it. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I don't care about hijacking threads or anything like that, LOL.... [Image: tongue.gif] It's ok.... carry on and be happy!

Let me tell you...... there have been many times this week that I have NOT been open minded. I can't say I'm so passionate for my religion... but I know I'm passionate for God... which is why I have problems with religion.

There was an article I read titled "hidden shirk"... and it warned of us elevating the love of religion more than God Himself.... God is not "in" the religion so to speak, but we may find that the religion will take us to where He is.

So.... keeping in mind how much you love God.... all else naturally falls into place. In the Bible Jesus says....

I give you two commandments..... the first is to love the Lord our God with all your heart.... the second is to love thy neighbor as thy self. On these two commandments hang all the laws, and all the prophets.

Says alot doesn't it? So if you feel yourself getting a little out of line.... Just remember how passionate you are for GOD FIRST.... and then remember that Islam brought you there..... and as long as you are in that state of being, remembering how much you love God..... it's impossible to ever get angry. [Image: smile.gif]

Peace. [Image: biggrin.gif]
