Don't worry, i'll keep it as my sig, i really wanted to anyway let's others see what i saw. Plus, because you were kind enough to pin my first post in the non muslims section it'll always be up there as well. As for the Muslim at work i spoke to him a bit more and he's having a child soon, and he's chosen ramadaan as time to change but he drinks so much he says he's gonna find it difficult. I just listened more than anything and suggested cutting down the drinks he has from several a week to a few and then from a few to one, and then from one to none. Allah is of course the only one who can help him truely, but i didn't say that...i figured it patronising, i'm sure he knows.

It's strange i knew this guy only two days and almost felt for him like a brother. That's the power of Islam, before my "brothers" would have been those with the same skin colour as me, now it extends toward those who praise Allah. I don't like to interfere though, i hope Allah will guide him. Besides that, the job is OK, although it takes away from my Islam studies, which is really annoying. [Image: dry.gif]

As Salam alaikum

Unfortunately, this brother might be an alcoholic and may need to seek treatment. If he truly wants to get better then he will go at it with an open mind. AA can help as well. Of course, all by the Will of Allah.

About sami yusuf:

About the Munshid (singer):

Sami Yusuf: Sami Yusuf was born in July 1980. He was born into a musical family and thus music played an integral part in his life. Samis initial training came from his father, who is an internationally renowned composer, poet, and a multi-talented musician. Sami learnt to play many instruments at a very young age and gradually began to show a keen interest in singing and composing. At the age of eighteen, he obtained a scholarship to study composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London, one of the worlds most prestigious music institutions. Sami has been composing from a very young age and his beautiful voice is supplemented by his extensive knowledge of notes and harmonies. He also has a good understanding of music theory and the Middle Eastern modes (or Maqams) and solfeggio. Indeed, it is rare to find a person who has all these talents. Sami is also a devout practicing Muslim who sees songs as a means of promoting the message of Islam and encouraging the youth to be proud of their religion and identity.
