Jazakum Allah khairan? what does that mean...something nice i hope I'm starting to pick up bits and pieces but i'm lost with this one. And Bismillah, i keep forgetting what that one is too.

Jazakum Allah khairan brother (which translates as may Allah reward u) u say this when someone give u something, or help u in a any way

this is a quote from what sister Muslimah answered, may Allah(God) reward u a lot for doing something good Jazzak means reward, khairan means blessings, or benefaction.

I'm learning Arabic right now, came back from my second course last night. It's very difficult but also very enjoyable i love the challenge. I'm also learning arabic from the various online links Muslimah and others have provided, Insh a Allah i will speak and read it with ease soon, right now it's very overwhelming. Of course my sole motivation for learning Arabic is to read Quran in it's original language, not just english. Anything that comes after that is a blessing. I'm impatient with these things though, i know this is gonna take me ages.

I disagree, I don't think it was colonialism at work here. The middle east, with the exception of Israel is a very unstable region. I think there are many factors at work here and to blow it all off as "Western Imperialism" is a tad lazy on your part.

Since the last half a century there's been just one reason for the unstability in the middle-east ... the creation of Israel by snatching away a large portion of a sovereign state, followed by the Zionist occupation of whatever was left of that land.
