Just how much thought was put into that response I wonder ? [Image: rolleyes.gif]

A bland sweeping statement that serves no purpose to debate, why bother ? Are you too busy to respond ?

I addressed some of your previous questions and posed more but you choose to ignore them. Fair enough.

u made a point here, Habib, we are not trying to debate with u, we are just trying to explain things. Big difference.

OK, explain to me how Islam can co-exist with other theologies/religions when it is clearly shown in the Qu'ran that is not the case/intent.

I pulled a verse out of the Qu'ran (4:089) as an example, but you seem to think I am too naive to interpret it (properly) or you think I am deliberately taking it out of context.

Hibee, I am sure that people here would not mind to discuss with you but it seems you have your mind made up on pretty much everything and trying to speak with you while in that attitude will benefit no one. We are here to share and learn, not attempt to win a debate.

Thank you,

Jennifer

btw: when you post a response, it is not necessary to repost the entire above post. It's a waste of space and I'm sure people don't need to read the same thing twice. Thanks again.

That's where you are wrong SisJen, no one wants to discuss anything. It would appear that you and Muslimah are only capable of "cut and paste" from the verse of the Qu'ran, incapable of discussing/debating specific issues I have brought forward. Truly bereft of free thought. Sad, sad, sad.

As for an "attitude" well it may come off that way in text but it is not an attitude. If you don't want to continue with the dialogue, hey that's fine, don't post anything, you are contributing next to nothing anyway. Perhaps that may be because you are a moderator ? I don't know.

Yes, of course, similar to my understanding of Islam, I am too stupid to realise these things, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Regards,

HabibHibee.

ps, now THAT was an attitude

Habib, read 4:90. U prefer not to listen and continue arguing. And when u ask about rulings on a certain matter, where do u expect us to get u this, except from the book of regulation (Quran) do u expect us to make our own rules in order to explain to u, I am not sure why u simply can not see this point, U started this thread to find our if Islam can exist with other religions, was it too much for u to receive the verses governing our relation with non muslims? well I think I did give u the verses long time ago. Yet again read 4:90. read 4: 90 read 4: 90. La hawala wala qowata ila billah

Just to make Habib's search shorter. Ill post the verses from Yusuf Ali's transalation here.

Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them). (4:90)

Oh, and it would help to see the footnotes on 4:89 and 4:90.
