Islamic Hijaab

I really hope that Allah guides Djana and keeps her always steadfast in her Deen. Alhamdulilah I've been a hijabi for 3 years now, I started when I was 16. Muslims and nonmuslims alike show me tremendous respect, people open doors for me, most man that pass me by after their first glance start looking down. It can not get better then that . There are people who approach me and ask me straight up "why do you wear that"? and I start telling them about it. There are some who say " your young, you have a whole life ahead of you why not have fun" and all of that yadi yada but at the end of the day I'll still have my hijab on.


Before I became a hijabi, I used to get all kinds of unwanted attention. I really have received nothing but peace/respect/dignity from wearing my hijab. Oh and I was not forced by my brother or father. The whole reason I started wearing it, is because Allah makes that very clear in the Quraan that we should cover ourselves.


The hijab is truly more then just a scarf on your head, you are earning rewards, you are showing the whole world and most of all ALLAH how committed you are to him. Its a sign that you are muslim inside and out. Everytime a person who has never seen a hijab before or never heard of islam before sees you wear a hijab, they start wondering and further more they start learning that you are a muslim. So in a lot of ways you are spreading islam as well.


There are some weirdos who give me some stupid remarks when I am on my way to school etc, yes I have feelings and hurts deep down inside to be shouted at and called names just because I am doing what I was born for but frankly I don't care. I only care what Allah thinks of me and no human being. I kneel down to him 5 times a day not to a human being, so why I should I care about what they think of me!


Djana about what you said no man will want to marry me, thats not really true sister. I know plenty of hijabis and even niqaabis who are married and happy mashaALlah. So don't let that stop you Sister. Besides, any man who wouldn't want to marry just because of your hijab is probably not the best husband for a muslim woman anyway.
