Anas (Allah is pleased with him) reported that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
The greatness of reward is accompanied by the greatness of distress. If Allah the Exalted loves people, He solely afflicts them with trials. One who is content with that (trial), all the consent is for him, and one who is annoyed with, all wraths is for him.
(Reported by Al-Tirmidhi)
