Bismillah Arrahman Arrahim,
Al-slamu Alaikom
New names being given to war, again and again.. The Public in USA understands very well that this war is just a war on islam. In my openion there is no difference between targeting militant Islam and Civil islam because both end at bombing homes and civilians, dehumanizing and apologizing.
this article represents some if Not majority of US religious beliefes about the state of Israel and its future in the middle East.... Isnt an Islamic Millitant equal to this religious drive ? Both are religious and Both stem from a believe/faith and Both aim at killing the other side and to be determined to be the winning side... Why this labeling to islamic Millitant forces as terrorism while the religious support to israel is not labeled as Christian Terrorism or Fundamentalism!!! No way, Its a Faith of Peace!!!!
War on Militant Islam article from LB Prophecy club quoted:
The "War on Terror" is misnamed
by Mark Hitchcock
In a recent article in the National Review Online ( May 13, 2004), Andrew C. McCarthy made a very sage observation. The title of the article was
"The War that Dare Not Speak Its Name"
The battle is against militant Islam, not "Terror"
In the article, McCarthy says what we all know but very few have been willing to publicly recognize.
Well, we are now well into the third year of what is called the "War on Terror." That is the language we all use, and it is ubiquitous. The tabloids and the more prestigious journals of news and opinion fill their pages with it. The 24-hour cable television stations are not content merely to repeat "War on Terror" as if it were a mantra; they actually use it as a floating logo in their dizzying set designs. Most significant of all, the "War on Terror" is our government's top rhetorical catch-phrase. It is the way we define for the American people and the world — especially the Islamic world — what we are doing, and what we are about. It is the way we explain the nature of the menace that we are striving to defeat. But is it accurate? Does it make sense? More importantly, does it serve our purposes? Does it make victory more identifiable, and hence more attainable? I humbly suggest that it fails on all these scores. This, furthermore, is no mere matter of rhetoric or semantics. It is all about substance, and it goes to the very core of our struggle. Terrorism is not an enemy. It is a method. It is the most sinister, brutal, inhumane method of our age. But it is nonetheless just that: a method. You cannot, and you do not, make war on a method. War is made on an identified — and identifiable — enemy. In the here and now, that enemy is militant Islam — a very particular practice and interpretation of a very particular set of religious, political and social principles. Now that is a very disturbing, very discomfiting thing to say in 21st-century America. It is very judgmental. It sounds very insensitive. It is the very definition of politically incorrect. Saying it aloud will not get you invited to chat with Oprah. But it is a fact. And it is important both to say it and to understand it.
I could not agree more. America and the world must realize that the greatest threat to the world today is militant Islam. The next great event in Bible prophecy could very well be the great Islamic invasion of Israel predicted in Ezekiel 38—39. It is a prophecy that is shaping history even as you read this article. According to Ezekiel 38—39, militant Islam will not go away any time soon. All the nations in Ezekiel 38:1-7 that attack Israel in the end times are currently Islamic nations with the exception of Russia. And most of them are currently avowed enemies of Israel (Persia, Libya, and Sudan). There is nothing that these nations would love more than to invade Israel to wipe her off the face of the earth.
While what we see developing before our eyes in the world today is disturbing, it should not be surprising to those who understand Bible prophecy. The rise of militant Islam is contributing to worldwide instability and pushing the world toward globalism even faster than its already accelerating pace. Nations must come together in cooperative military and intelligence efforts to combat this terrible menace. And globalism is necessary for the worldwide rule of Antichrist predicted in Revelation 13. The meteoric rise of militant Islam is also setting the stage for the massive end times invasion of Israel predicted by the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel over 2,500 years ago.
We can keep calling it the "war on terror" if we want to, but someday the world will be forced to recognize it for what it really is. Maybe much sooner than we any of us expect.
