May Allah have mercy upon her. She was a righteous and forgiving woman, as we knew her, though we do not testify for anyone before Allah.
Your post therefore carried a special meaning for me and reminded me of the reality of this worldly life and the importance of preparing to meet our Lord.
It also reminded me of the well-known authentic hadith:
Quote:"Frequently remember the destroyer of pleasures: death."
The Prophet ﷺ described death as
"the destroyer of pleasures" because remembering it cuts the heart's attachment to the temporary enjoyments of this world, awakens the heedless, and reminds the believer that this life is only a passing stage.
Remembering death is therefore not a call to despair, but a call to sincere repentance, righteous deeds, and self-accountability before meeting Allah.
May Allah bless you and benefit others through what you share. May He have mercy on our deceased and the deceased among all the Muslims, and make us among those who take heed when reminded and respond when advised.
I also noticed that the other wording you quoted:
Quote:"Remember death recurrently because so doing wipes out sins and makes you disregard this worldly life."
I have not been able to find this wording in the well-known books of Hadith. If you happen to know its original source or authentication, I would sincerely appreciate it if you could share it.
I always like to verify narrations attributed to the Prophet ﷺ as accurately as possible.
