Assalam aleikum Abu Dujanah
Regarding the hadith I did look in my books and couldn’t find the source. I already asked a few days ago regarding its authenticity and I asked at Sheikh Awdah’s in English so I could post the link for all to benefit. As soon as I get a response I will post it. And Jazakallah for discussing this.
Ok, regarding your question. As the article i posted confirms, Ibn Nuha’as who was an alim was of the opinion the women of the dunya will be superior to the hoor al ayn. And this is not a strange idea amongst the uelama. A while ago I was reading that Ibn Qayim was also of this opinion, and he went further and said that when the man sees his wife (of the dunya for the first time) he will look at her for 40 years. In total wonderment. AllahuAlim.
I read a lot of different books and we don’t always remember the source. And to be honest akhee I’m not that interested in spending time looking into this subject. Infact I would just be SOOO happy to get to Jannah and wouldn’t worry for what I would find! Recently as a joke I said to my husband, maybe I won’t accept you in Jannah and he said you should just worry about getting there!! Good advice.
It’s a bit like the slavegirl thread. Yes this is part of Islam, but the men shouldn’t be worrying too much for what war booty they get. Or what they are allowed to do with it. As much as they should be worrying about actually fighting. Nowadays who’s fighting? Worry about the obligations. Worry what Allah tala will ask you.
It’s a lot of talk, but in terms of our obligations doesn’t have much benefit. With respect, I enjoy your posts and I have already said this and I benefit which I’ve also said. JazakallahKhayren. But sometimes I think you go for the controversial subjects, just for that reason. And I know that you could post things of much more benefit MashAllah. For example, polygamy, slavery, mutah marriages not much benefit. Not really akhee.
I mean ok, slaves are halal in Islam. But this isn’t knowledge, this isn’t something which is going to help the ummah with day to day problems. This is just rhetoric, when our men are sleeping. That’s the problem with our men nowadays, a lot of talk and not so much action!! The proof 30,000.00 sisters raped in Bosnia alone. Forget about slave girl what about our muslims girls?!
The sahaba didn’t speak they acted.
And maybe I'm wrong in my understanding but talking of slave girls and hoor al ayn when our ummah is in this state seems a bit empty. AllahuAlim.
And i hope Inshallah i haven't offended you. Wallahi that is not my intention. I'm not addressing this as anything personal. Its just that this talk is VERY COMMON amongst brothers. And then sisters start dwelling on this hoor al ayn issue and then they get defensive. And I've even heard sisters question the Justice of Allah tala in this subject AuthooBillah. And is it relevant to us ? No. Even if we were not to find ourselves superior, would not perfection be enough?
Wouldn't just getting to Jannah be enough?
Assalam aleikum
