On the authority of `Uqbah bin `Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:


None among you should outbid another in a transaction, nor should he make a proposal of marriage upon proposal already made by someone else until he abandons the woman to whom he had already proposed.
