I found this hadith, it is in Vol. 3 Book 34. Sales and trade. Hadith 438 (Shahi Bukhari)
Narrated By Jabir bin 'Abdullah: I heard Allah's(SWT) Apostle(SAW), in the year of the Conquest of Meca, saying, "Allah(SWT) and His Apostle(SAW) made illegal the trade of alcohol, dead animals, pigs and idols. "The people asked, "O Allah's(SWT) Apostle(SAW)! What about the fat of dead animals, for it was used for greasing the boats and the hides; and people used it for lights?" He(SAW) said, " No it is illegal." Allah's(SWT) Apostle(SAW)further said, "May Allah(SWT) curse the Jews, for Allah(SWT) made the fat(of animals) illegal for them, yet they melted the fat and sold it and ate its price."
From this hadith one can see it haram to use fat from a dead animal that is halal, but was not slaughtered under Islamic conditions to grease a boat.(maytah) sp? dead animals.
I am not a scholar but I would say it is haram to wear any coat that was not zabiha, and of course NO SWINE at all beacause they are haram from the word go to us. If one can not even grease a boat from a dead animal(maytah), surely one could not wear a garment from the same source.
That is just my humble response. I would like to hear from a scholar on this matter also. But I would say it is haram.
