On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) who reported that the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had said:


The best month for fasting next to Ramadan is Al-Muharram, and the best prayer next to the prescribed prayers is the Night prayer.
