On the authority of Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) who reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) fasted on the day of `Ashura' And commanded (people) to observe fasting during that day. (Agreed upon) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lessons Deduced: - The order to fast on the Day of `Ashura' means only a confirmed recommendation. - The Day of `Ashura’ is the ninth of Al-Muharram |
