Bismillah
As salam alaikum
I am reminded of the hadith that this sunnah will become like holding a hot coal. Most people interpret this to mean that the sunnah will be hard to follow. But I was thinking the other day that a coal was chosen for a reason. Rasul-Ullah is noted for being specific in his wordings. I mean he could have chosen a fish or a bloody sword or wet bread, all of which are difficult to hold. Instead it is coal. I think (Astaghfirullah) that it also has to do with the pain that we experience while trying to hold to the sunnah. We suffer pain when people look at us differently. We suffer from isolation of family and friends. And like a burning coal we are marked by the sunnah from others forever. That is the good part of the hadith.
May Allah Forgive me for acting as if I have knowledge. May He forgive me for my mistakes. May He prevent me in the future Insha'Allah.
As salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu
