Bismillah
As salam alaikum
Rasul-Ullah condonced the actions of the those closest to him. When Umar called for the congressional taraweeh prayers, I believe he was acting out of what he thought the Messenger might have done. This man was very adamant about Islam and would not bring in harmful worship. Rasul-Ullah may have prayed alone but there were times when he prayed night prayers with others so the ritual is not unheard of from Muhammad
As for the paryer beads, our acts of wrship must be as pure as we can make them and as close to the methods of Rasul-Ullah as possible. In my mind at best they are in an area of doubt so I choose to stay away from them. Those they stay away from the doubtful protect their deen. I'd rather endure the hardship of trying to keep count with my fingers as is the sunnah and have Allah reward me for that struggle than have to explain myself to Allah as to why I used a method of worship that the Messenger of did not do.
If anyone wants to use the beads, alhamdulillah. I see brothers at my mosque use them all the time. I leave them alone because I do not yet have enough knowledge for people to take me seriously.
I just personally do not understand wanting to use methods that were not used by Muhammad or his companions.
"However, although the dhikr Allah has been recited from the time of the Prophet, the sibhah as we now know it today has not been recorded as being in existence at that time. Some accounts of history show that Muslims adopted the sibhah from India in the 2nd Islamic century and through them, in 1214, that the Christians adopted the idea and started using the rosary (Gulik)."
We know that bidah was filtering into the deen of Islam before the deaths of the companions. One saw a group of people sitting in a circle repeating thikr said after one person said it in a mosque. He went to get one of the companions who knew Rasul-Ullah after they refused to stop. The other companion came in condemned what they were doing and never went to that mosque again.
These people were only doing what they thought was better for their iman but it was a deviation from the methods of worship instituted by Rasul-Ullah.
I will drop the issue since I cannot think of any other points that I have not already written. The only reason why I am so worried is that my deen is in danger when I do not warn against what I feel to be incorrect. I am very stringent when it comes to acts of worship of Allah, Most High. Please forgive any over zealousness. I only mean to do good. Astaghfirullah. May Allah guide me and have mercy on me.
Jazakum Allah Khair for your replies and how they are phrased. I have known others who would just blow me off. May our dialogues continue for the betterment of ourselves and our deen.
As salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu
