Maybe I am wrong, but I heard that Taraweeh prayers are a bidah. One of the Khalifs began this tradition, and upon completing it asked the people, \"Isn't this a fine bidah I've created?\"
I asked around about this, and from what I can gather the Prophet peace be upon him, did pray extra prayers at night during the month of Ramadan, but did not do so every night, so the people would not think it is a fard, which would make it difficult for some people. Maybe another brother or sister can shed some light onto this for us?

Wassalam...I think Taraweh isnt bidah, but we muslims make it bidah so far..Someppl dont pray the fardz 5 day but they run to taraweh in ramadan..how is it...wassalam
