The main reason that I know for a fact that there is "another side" to the story is that I constantly watched the news in Bahrain when I lived there. The news over there is brutal compaired with American news - they show just about EVERYTHING including bloody bodies in the streets. You can't help but know what is going on around the world. We weren't shielded and "protected" over there like we are here in America.
However, I wasn't exposed to the AMERICAN version of the news while in Bahrain so I didn't see inconsitencies. Therefore I wasn't asking the questions I have posted on the forum. Does that make sense?
When I returned to America I did noticed that our news seemed to be very censored even though we have "freedom of the press". This feeling is what started the ball rolling. I started to see the "shielding and protecting" more as a way of keeping the truth away from the American public while at the same time having more control over how we viewed things around the world through powerful suggestion and minimal exposure to "the other side of the story".
Right now I don't have much access to the news at all. I don't own a TV and when the news is on (and I can convince people to leave it on and quit whining) I only have channels like FOX and CNN. From my past experience with the news in the Middle East I now know that I am seeing things from a very VERY narrow perspective while watching Fox and CNN.
Hence, this thread!
