Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had said:


Beware of envy because it consumes the virtues just as fire consumes the fuel.

Lessons Deduced

1. The hadith warns against envy whether it is directed to religious or worldly benefit.

2. Envy is an abominable acts prohibited by the prophet (peace be upon).

3. Envy abolishes good deeds as fire destroys dry plants.
