99 names of Allah

Ar-Rahman: The Beneficient/Gracious/

Merciful

- He who wills goodness for all His creatures.

Ar-Raheem: The Merciful

- He who has plenty of Mercy for all His believers.

Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem are two names derived from Ar-Rahmah (the mercy).

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts; and He retained with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent down to earth one part. Through this one part creatures deal with one another with compassion, so much so that an animal lifts its hoof over its young lest it should hurt it".

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

[Tasmiyyah: Bismillah]

"All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of all that exists. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The Owner of the Day of Recompense."

[surat ul Fatiha ayats 1-3]
