Asalam~0~Alykum
Sister I am sooooooooooo happy that u brought this subject up b/c i 2 go 2 a mix school and i also live in a non-muslim country. Al7amduallah in my school there is a good number of arabs and muslims, but still its only a small percentage compare to other groups. Al7amduallah we here try our best 2 spread Islam like we have a club called Islamic Presence that was formed 8 years ago by an Egypt guy who use 2 go 2 our school. Al7amduallah its up until know, but we suffer from low presence of members, but inshallah this year would be different. Anyways there is a thing that i wanted 2 say about the mix and freedom 4 some ppl who say that they muslims, but don't act as one. I feel really sad when I c a muslim guy/gurl putting his/her hands around a guy/gurl and say oh he/she is my boyfriend/gurlfriend. What pisses me most is that when they c other good muslims he/she acts as if nothing happened and he/she just blames others 4 the same thing that he does. They would be in a private school or in other words an Islamic private school and they just go and have a boyfriend/gurlfriend and they wear cloths that even some Americans won't wear. After school hours. During school and in front of parents or good muslims they wear hijab then take it off when no one is looking. They r just ashamed that ppl would know that they r musilms. They think if ppl knew that they r muslim they will loss there coolness or something.
Yesterday we had a muslim teacher who is only teaching in our school for 2 months he said the most bad behaved ppl and low grades and always late 2 class r muslims. I felt really bad when he said that. That’s not how muslims should act. I think all of this starts from the home and that there parents don't teach them anything about Islam or what Islam is.
I really hope someone would help me figure out some ways to help these ppl.
