Looking for more info on Islam

Hello,

I am an American and am looking into reading more about the Qur'an. I was hoping you all could direct me to either an online source, or paper source for a easy to read english version.

I am not a Muslim, but am interested in getting a better understanding of the faith. I am unsure as to if the perceptions I am bombarded with every day over here are indeed accurate, or false regarding Islam. So, like all those who thurst for knowledge, I want to get closer to the truths of things.

Anyhow, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
