Hello Michelle,
How are you, I live in the US as well and I share many of your views on its foreign policy.
Concerning the US's support of Israel...I personal see a paradox.
If a cartoonist were to draw a picture of this, he would make a pumped up young guy beating a 100 year old cripped man and calling him evil:( .
What I do understand is that Israel has nuclear weaponry and is the only state in the region (supposedly) to have it. But your never going to hear that on FOX:D .
If Americans found out that we were giving away millions in THEIR hard earned tax dollars to support Israel, then I think that most Americans would protest AGAINST Israel. There are currentyly 34 known Jewish lobbiests in Congressional Jobs here in the US.
Occupation is a reality, and even my textbook tells me that 750,000 Palestinians were uprooted from their homes in 1948. Talk about sickening...they were just civilians. I thought that out of all people in the world the Jews would know what injustice was back then...you know, after the Holocaust.
I remember as a kid, I used to live in this big Jewish community and we used to go on field trips to Holocaust Museums in my suburb. I remember some of the horrible pictures shown to us, I remeber how one Jewish girl started crying.
It was a sad day, but even more depressing was the fact that they never told us about Palestine and how it had atrocities commited against it! I mean this was a museum of Jewish History, there has to be a mention of Palestine somewhere!!
I totaly disagree with sucidie bombs and terrorism, I can't belive anyone could hate someone so much. There is no just cause for it, but I think fighting against Israel's military is sufficient, just not killing innocent bystanders like Israel.
Sadly there was none. This didn't become a religious fight until Israel declared that it was going to allow Jews to come to it from anywere in the world. Now, the Jewish population is very small, something like 20 mil. But the statement represents a discrimination...any Jew can come because they are a citizen (no matter where they are in the world), but the Palestinians...who live in shacks next door can't.
Its great to see such an open person willing to learn Michelle, you are truly a blessing, may Allah swt guide you on your journey.
