Bismillah
More on the meaning of ahsahum, it is a requirement for each one of us to ponder and look around trying to identify how Allah's Names and Attribute manifest. For example, for those who Alhamdulelah performed Haj, they will clearly realise how Allah as Al Baset, One Who Expands, manifest to expand the limited space of land to accomodate almost 3 million people. When they depart and you look around, u feel amazed how this limited area accomodated all of them But Al Baset Is working. When you have a lot of work, family responsibilities, other obligations, you will need to seek Assistance of Al Baset to expand your time, effort and ability to be able to fulfill all of those obligations. Concurrently, you will need Al Qabed, One Who Contracts, to contract those burdens. You will also need Al Moeen, One Who Assists, to support your efforts and makes them successul. This is what Ahsahum mean. It is for the devotee to live within those names and attributes with full conviction that they are functional throughout time and till the day after. You need to ponder when you see people going up and then brought down and say Sobhan Al Arrafi Alkhafed, the One Who Elevates and One Who Brings down. To See Alkhalaq, One Who Procreates just by looking to a butterfly. This is what ahsahum means. It does not help to fully memorise them by heart, then loose the in depth meaning, not realising them, observing them, adopting them..etc. Our Deen is reasoning based and oriented. This is what the hadeeth is all about. But it is only for those who have hearts that can understand.
wallahu a`lam.
