Writing in the Quran

Asalaamu alikum I remember once years ago listening to an Imam talk about proper use of Quran and was talking about we DO NOT write it in or underline things etc.... Now I am trying to find a ruling about this or anything from the scholars discussing this and I am having a hard time finding it. I need it for a brand new Muslim who wants to do that but I feel this is defacing the Quran. Do any of you know anything about this topic???? Jazak Allah khairn :) |
