Bismillah
Under Egyptian law, it is a criminal offence for any non-Muslims to proselytize. Therefore, any Christian who gives or sells a bible to a muslim is risking arrest and possibly much worse. So, it is not surprising that Egyptian Christians are very hesitant about supplying muslims with bibles.
Interestingly, there is no law in Egypt which prevents muslims from proselytizing to non-muslims. Hardly seems fair, does it?
Where did you read this statement about Egyptian law? they preach all the time, they give out money in poor areas, in Upper Egypt they take Muslim women for tubal ligation surgeries, they hold pal talk sessions just to slander the Messenger blessing and peace be upon him. BTW, I told this to my Nazarine colleague when I talked to her about the bible, she said I know it is disgracing. I told her about a certain man who is just specialised in slandering the Messenger blessing and peace be upon him and asked her a question which I will ask both you and Shamms reepi, did you ever meet, read, hear a Muslim who slandered or even criticised Eassa blessing and peace be upon him??
To me what this man is doing and anyone who uses this approach is simply being weak.
