Quote:Its ironic that the one thing JohnDoe notices in the video is the hug. Ironic because the only other people who would have made as much a fuss over it as he did would be the extremist ultraorthodox "muslims"
Asalaamu alikum,
I really feel that it is unfortunate that the people who give the hardest time to Muslims who try their best to follow the rules of Islam are most often other muslims.
I noticed the hug too, and I agree with John that is does not belong there. Our Prophet and the early companions who understood the message best knew we dont even shake hands between the sexes much less embrace. So when you label other muslims as extremist and ultraorthodox its a little like taking a shot at the Prophet too, and maybe you could be more careful.
None of us are perfect, and none of us behave totally Islamic 24/7, but we should always try to improve ourselves and acknowledge the appropriate behavior rather than belittling each other if a reminder is made.
Jazak Allah khairn
Interesting video Umm Z even if it was staged. Living in USA I can say I have encountered all kinds of people. While Im pretty sure to deny anybody service because of religion is illegal over here, but I have heard of these things happening on occasion. In any case, when there is opposition to the one practicing her faith the reward is greater so these people do us a favor more than hurt us. Insha Allah we will become stronger in faith and practice from these experiences and eventually these things will happen less insha Allah. May Allah guide us all to the right path.
