Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had said:


All of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards. The ruler is a guardian of his subjects and the man is a guardian of his family, the lady is a guardian and is responsible for her husband's house and his offspring; and so all of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards.

Lessons deduced

1. Every member of the Muslim society has certain responsibilities incumbent upon him. He bears responsibility of himself as well as for those who have a connection with him.

2. The wife is responsible for taking care of her husband’s household in all respects.

3. Husbands and wives are partners in this life and each of them should assume their responsibility towards one another.
