Bismillah: Assalamo Alikum.
Quote:Alsalam alaykum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatuh,
"Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. "
It could be just me but I think the Pope is implying that Allah is not Emmanuel, therefore he is not Jesus.
Emmanuel does not mean Jesus, Emmanuel is a Hebrew word which means God with us, Matt1:23 was quoting Isiah somewhere in the OT, where the verse explicitly says that this come son WOULD BE CALLED EMMANUEL, but amazingly no one ever have called Jesus Emmanuel in his lifetime, but this is not our topic now, the point is that the Pope was trying to make the God of the Qur'an limited, although he possess some of the most beautiful names and attributes, but all these names means nothing because he is far far away from us as Naseeha rightly said. But Alhamdulelah, I've proven with Allah's help that he was wrong.
