Bismillah: Assalamo Alikum.
To be honest with you sister, I am not against using music when we sing for Allah, otherwise, we should not watch any Islamic movies like “<i>the Message</i>” because it has some music in it.

The purpose for bringing Native Deen during Amr Khaled's visit to USA, in my opinion to break any barrier between Non Muslim audience and the Muslims on the stage, and to give an idea to Non Muslims that we are also normal people, using accessible language, fashionable and religious at the same time; why cant we listen to music and go out and have fun while still wearing the veil and and observing our religous duties as Muslims?
Of course this is not an argument with you sister, this is only my opinion and jazaki Allahu khiran for your input.
