Bismillah: Assalamo Alikum.
Quote:Women are not equal to men in islam.
No john, they are equal.
First of all you need to learn that women’s equality to men in Islam should be judged according to the authentic sources of Islam, and not by what individual Muslims do or what the Muslim society does, when you learn (hopfully) you will realize that:
1- Sex is not the criteria to enter Paradise. The believers among men and women are granted paradise insh a Allah, no discrimination.
2- Spiritual nature of a man and woman is the same in Islam. So by nature we are equal.
3- Moral duties of the men and women are equal in Islam.
4- Islam taught us not kill any children whether it be male or female. Both are equal.
5- In Islam, the rights of a wife are equal to those of the husband.
6- In Islam, The only thing above respect to Mother, is the worship of Allah. So mothers have special place in Islam.
7- The men and the women, they are maintainers and supporters of each other’. Because they are equal.
8- 1400 years ago, when the women were ill treated and were only used as chattels - leave aside being educated, Islam asked the women to be educated.
9- In Islam, women were given the option to keep her family name after marriage or adopt her husband’s name. and keeping her family name is recommended, because men and women in Islam are equal.
10- a common lady can object the head of the state. (the caliph).
And on and on…
Now tell me how the westerners treated women?
The Western talk of women’s liberation, is actually a disguised form of exploitation of her body, deprivation of her honour and degradation of her soul.
The Western society which speaks of upgrading the status of women, have actually reduced her status to concubines.
