Quote:ok im glad some people see the truth
lets not just follow what is blind and presume, and instead do research and look more into it
The Salaf are The Sahabahs. and I hope I can live up to following in their footsteps as regrd to aqeedah, manhaj, ibaadah, and aqlaaq(Manners, morals and adab) The Salafi's are a sect of muslims who are upon the truth from amoungst the many muslims out there They are ahlul Sunnah Ahlul hadeeth, and the saved sect. who from amoungst the many muslims out there are calling to the Qur'an and Sunnah as it was understood by the salaf. who else says that and makes that claim. yet there are others who call themselves salafi- So measure their claim with the statements and actions of the salaf, If you need to know if they are truthful in that claim.
The Salaf us-Saalih are distinguished for their adherence to the methodological principles outlined in the Book of Allaah, the Sunnah of His Messenger and the practice of the Companions.
Thus, in the arena of Aqeedah (creed) the Salaf us-Saalih follow a particular methodology, which is opposed to that of other than them, such as the Ash'arees, the Mu'tazilah and their likes whose hallmark is to raise the intellect and kalaam (theological rhetoric) over the texts of the Book and the Sunnah and the well-known sayings of the Imaams of this ummah.
Similarly, in the arena of Ibaadah (worship), the Salaf us-Saalih adhere to a methodology opposed to that of the intoxicated Soofees and Grave worshippers, who invent and innovate into the religion that for which Allaah sent down no authority.
Similarly, in the arena of Da'wah (calling to Allaah) and current affairs, the Salaf us-Saalih are distinguished from the innovated and pretentious methodologies of the political activists, who under the guise of following the Salaf and the contemporary Ulamaa, rouse the emotions and sentiments of the common-folk, take them away from the firmly established scholars and merely call to themselves.
Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan - may Allaah preserve him - said, The reasons for disunity are many. From amongst the main causes are: Firstly, opposing the Manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf, the Companions of Allaah's Messenger and those who follow them. So the Salaf had a Manhaj that they adhered to; a Manhaj in aqeedah (creed), a Manhaj in da'wah (calling to Allaah), a Manhaj in enjoining good and forbidding evil, a Manhaj in how to judge between people. This Manhaj, in all situations, was based upon the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of our Messenger . [Wujoob ut-Tathabbut fil-Akhbaaar p.18] I hope this can be of help to the talkers out there, becauce the Ulema are who the Knowledge is sought from Not blindly but with authentic proofs from the legislated text of Qur'an and Sunnah as it was understood by the early Muslims. AS Allah says. {The forerunners those who came first among the Migrators and the Helpers and those who followed them with the best. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him and Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow therein forever and that is the great success.} At-Taubah: 100
A side note:
Also The Prophet (s.a.w.s) said: "The best of my nation is my generation then those who follow them and then those who follow them." Saheeh Bukhari and there are many more proofs If you require them.
the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), when he warned about his Ummah splitting into seventy three sect, he said:
"All of them are in the fire, except one."
They said: ‘Wo are they, O Messenger of Allaah?’ He said:
"The Jamaa’ah."
Look, he said:
"All of them are in the Fire, except one."
They said: ‘Who are they?’ He said:
"The Jamaa’ah."
Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said:
"The Jamaa’ah is what conforms to the truth, even if you are alone." [1]
Therefore, the seventy-three sects are false and futile, upon futility. And also in a weak narration, declared hasan (good) by some scholars due to its meaning, since its meaning has witness, when they said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah?’ He said:
"Those who are the like of what I and my Companions are upon today."[2]
