I wonder AboNuran, non of the companions changed his her name after embracing Islam.[/quote:8860fa51ff]Yes some did sister as indicated by the Ahadith in the previous post.

The Prophet (SAAWS) changed a lot of names for them and even named a lot of their new born childern as they always took them to him (SAAWS) to name them.

There are a lot of Ahadith to cover that subject, but I only posted the important ones.
