Celebrating Birthdays in Islam
#5

Bismillah

Peace

Quote:Many muslims, possibly the majority of muslims, celebrate Mohammed's birthday. According to Islamic law, is celebrating Mohammed's birthday a criminal offence? And, if so, what is the punishment, according to Islamic law, for celebrating Mohammed's birthday?

Very true. If it was a criminal offence even some Islamic states would be prosecuted.

What is of interest is that a Muslim that want to live according to his/her belief will not celebrate. Simple as that. The prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam did not teach us to celebrate his birthday.
