Celebrating Birthdays in Islam
#4

Glory to God, peace on earth, goodwill to all.

Salam Abdul :peace:

Quote:If the children are taught to be proud of their Islamic heritage, they themselves will, insha Allah, abstain from non-Muslim celebrations, such as birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and there like.

Out of curiosity, what's inappropriate about celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, etc? Is Islam against this practice simply because it's widespread amongst non-Islamic cultures or is there something intrinsically evil about significant events such as these?

Thanks & God bless.
