May the Love of the Father, the Grace of the Son & the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all!
Quote:You said: <b>"Christian" simply refers to a follower of Christ”</b>
You were against the bishops who do not believe in the virgin birth of Jesus pbuh because it was weird for any Christian to reject this fact since this event was <i>“described in the Bible” </i> so I I was saying, how can you call your religion as “Christianity”, when in fact this word (Christianity) was never mentioned in the Bible to describe Jesus’ religion?
Jesus Christ is the foundation of our Religion. Christianity is the fitting tern for the Christian faith.
Who said it's not mentioned in the Holy Catholic Bible? Acts 26:28.
Quote:In another verse God clearly talked about those who have been changing <b>the Bible/Biblios/The Book </b> with their own hand to gain a very small benefit. (Quran, 2:77-79)"
That Ayat is addressing Judaism not Christianity.
Quote:Great, so do you know who are the real authors of those manuscripts? Do you know how many Bible scholars have gone through those<b> “so called original scriptures”</b> and shouted loudly that <b>THEY ARE NOT MATCHING WITH TODAY’S BIBLE </b> and sadly his voice was not heard? Do you know that <b>the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia admits that the Bible was “altered”? </b>
The Roman Catholic Encyclopedia
Do you know what the commentators of the NIV said about the gospel of Mark?
God is the primary author of Scripture. I guarantee you that the Catholic biblical scholars & archaeologists who scrutinized the manuscripts can be trusted.
<i>Do you know</i> that you have selected hearing (reading)? The quote you used from NewAdvent is speaking about ancient books in general being altered, not the Bible as such  You crack me up, Wael! I wish you'd read an entire paragraph for once.
Unless there are Protestants in the house who wish to discuss their NIV Bible with you, your words have fallen on deaf ears, sorry! I skipped over that part without reading it. I'm Catholic (thanks be to God). The sacred text for Protestants is as useful to me as the Bhagavad-Gita. Don't get me wrong, I respect them, but I'm not qualified enough to comment.
Quote:The Bible wasn't memorized by anyone, nor was documented by it's Prophets. Unlike the Qur’an which was memorized by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and his followers till this day.
There were various versions of the Qur'an spreading rapidly after the prophets death (PBUH) & caliphs attempted to burn numerous copies, however, were unable to. True or false? Please provide a long & convincing answer, after all, we're here to discuss Islam not Christianity.
Quote:Exactly, and that’s why Jesus addressed his mother as <b>WOMAN</b> instead of a mother!! so i can see clearly from where did you get this behavior.
Jesus called the Blessed Virgin Mary "Woman" to signify that she's the new Eve - the one who obeyed God's command & became the Mother of all God's creatures. Simply beautiful
Quote:What about Moses pbuh? Didn’t he <b>IN YOUR BIBLE </b> conquered lands and killed everybody except young girls which God commanded him to keep them for himself? Can you say a word about this blessed Prophet Moses pbuh?
Here's the answer I gave Shaunee when she brought it up a while back...
Whenever reading the O/T, you must keep in mind that all the events lead up to the coming of Israel's Messiah.
To cut a long story short...
The Midianites (descendents of Abraham & his concubine) were seducing the Israelites to fall into idolatry & intermarriage. Moses instructed his army to spare the female virgin because of their purity. If the Israelites had mated with the unclean Midianites, it would've destroyed the Messianic line. This battle ensured the extermination of the Midianites & prevention of further sin.
Quote:Not really, <b>For us it’s so funny because you guys believe Jesus pbuh is God, and yet you are trying to compare him with man… </b>
Regardless of what TC thinks (sorry Mate), Jesus Christ is the Son of God & the Perfect Man. Through the Incarnation the 2nd Divine Person of the Most Holy Trinity assumed a sinless human nature. Wael, were you lying to me when you said you read my thread in "Discussion of Beliefs" or are you just arguing with TC for the sake of winning instead of acquiring truth?
Whatever! I'll leave you guys alone for the time being! I'm taking the rest of the night off :sleep2:
Please play nice, boys :placate:
Peace & Blessings!
