Repentance

Bismillah:

Assalamo Alikum:

Quote:how do Muslims know that their sins are forgiven? If you confess your sins in prayer & ask Allah for forgiveness, do you automatically receive it on the spot?

The Prophet PBUH said: <b>“"One who repents from sin is like one without sin."” </b>

So it depends on how sincere are you in turning to Allah asking for forgiveness. However, no Muslim will ever say that 'i am granted paradise' just because I am a Muslim; <b>we believe that only through Allah’s Mercy one can attain salvation. </b>

The Prophet PBUH advised:“ <b>"Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and rejoice, for no one's good deeds will put him in Paradise." The Companions asked, "Not even you O Messenger of Allah?" He replied. "Not even me unless Allah bestows His pardon and mercy on me."”</b>

Therefore in Islam, salvation rests on faith, good actions and hope in Allah's mercy, all combined in truly unique manner which is not found in any other religion or system.

<i>And Allah knows best.</i>

<b>“"O Allah, truly I have wronged myself and none can forgive sins except you, so forgive me and have mercy upon me"</b> Ameen.

Quote:Wasn't Iblees being a good Muslim by refusing to bow down to Adam?

<b>Are you saying that Iblis was a good Muslim by disobeying Allah’s command? </b>

Quote:Why would Allah command Iblees to prostrate before a human being?

To signify man’s superiority over every other creation, it is not to worship Adam, worship due to Allah alone. If Allah wishes for you to bow to someone for respect, you will do it, this is being obedient to God and obeying his command it has nothing to do with worshipping Adam. And you know well that there are plenty of people in the Bible prostrated and bowed down to other human beings, not for worship, but to pay respect and reverence to them.

So the real reason for this command was to show <b>MANKINDS SUPERIORITY over all creation. </b>

And God knows best.

Quote:Unlike 99% of my other questions on this forum, I hope these ones don't go unanswered.

Could you please try to list your 99% unanswered questions in a separate thread and we will try our very best to respond insh a Allah.
