wow 30 boards, no wonder u usually post threads and in some cases never come back to read the responses.
Any way, I agree with u on this issue. I m not an Urdu speaker, but I m aware of this term Khuda, however, not till today that I know the literal meaning. In some of the Arab countries, people are in the habbit of one pronounces part of the shahada and the other one replies with the second part, it is taken that this way they will meet again. Even in doing so, the intention is not to pronounce shahada but rather to ensure they will not be separated. Well, not sure how this may fit as bida`a. Alhamdulelah, i dont use this. BUt i agree that we must detach from our cultures and try to stick to sunnah.
