In the Name of God - Creator Redeemer Sanctifier
Quote:What an advantage in life we have... we aren't told we're going to hell if we don't tell our sins to a priest.
Neither are Catholics, Shaunee!
Quote:I was told by a priest that if you don't confess (TO HIM) that you are no longer in a state of grace, and will see heaven if dying outside of this grace.
What's the name of your former parish? I'd like to get in touch with the priest there. Either you misunderstood him BIG TIME or he's a tad dodgy.
Quote:I feel bad for those who have to live this way..... but at the same time... I'm greatful that I don't have to live this way EVER AGAIN.
Please don't feel bad for us, Sweetie. We couldn't be happier :) Alhamdulilah! Reconciliation is a Sacrament of healing. It's medicine for our souls... kind of like visiting a doctor after fracturing a body part - but in a spiritual way.
Quote:no one can forgive my sins but Allah alone.
Amen! But how do Muslims know that their sins are forgiven? If you confess your sins in prayer & ask Allah for forgiveness, do you automatically receive it on the spot?
Quote:Unlike Eblise who acted arrogant and never decided to repent, saying:
"Allah) said: "What prevented you (O Iblees) that you did not prostrate, when I commanded you?" Iblees said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay." (Quran 7:12)
Then became stubborn and said:"
"Iblees, the Satan) said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up." (Quran 7:14)
Wasn't Iblees being a good Muslim by refusing to bow down to Adam? Why would Allah command Iblees to prostrate before a human being?
Unlike 99% of my other questions on this forum, I hope these ones don't go unanswered.
Thanks in advance!
Peace, love, & blessings.
