Has The Qur'an Changed?
#2

Salam Shaunee!

Quote:Unlike the Bible and Old Testament

The Old Testament is contained in the Bible. If you're referring to the sacred text of the Jews, you can either call them "Hebrew Scriptures" or the "Tanach". They don't have an Old Testament because there is no New Testament in Judaism.

Quote:that have been subject to innumerable translations

Indeed they have! It pretty much started with the Reformation in the 16th Century AD.

Quote:doubtful and spurious transmissions

The deceiver is no fool! He inspired over 50 000 false Christian Churches throughout the world. He has helped divide us. Thankfully, God provides graces to overcome evil.

Quote:and corruptions at the hands of clerics up till now

Hmmm... I don't quite get this one, but it just sounds odd. Who are clerics? Do you mean clergy? Because sure there are some dodgy priests out there but I'm not prepared to leave the Rock of Faith (the Apostle St Peter) just because of the betrayer (the Apostle Judas).

Quote:(with the “gender sensitive” versions coming out these days)

The Church immediately added this version to its list of "Banned Bibles".

Apart from these snippets, I quite enjoyed the article. I'm aware that you probably didn't write it, but I just thought I'd tackle the misconceptions for future reference :)

Shukran!
